Baptism
and the Lord’s Supper
-
We
believe that Christian baptism is the single immersion of a
believer in water to show forth in picture form his faith in
the crucified, buried and risen Savior, with its effect in His
death to sin and resurrection to a new life. We believe
that baptism is a prerequisite to the privilege of a church
relation. (Acts 8:26-39; Rom. 6:3-5; Col. 2:12; Acts
2:38; 1 Pet. 3:21)
-
We
believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s
death until He comes. Since it is for obedient
believers, it should be preceded by solemn self-examination. (1
Cor. 11:23-24)
